About the Image(s)
This small woodland fern provides a living contrast to the tree stump behind it and the autumn leaves at its base. It is a fortunate early November fern not to have been hit by any frost. I did standard processing in PS and LR, then put into Topaz Studio for a few adjustments, then into PS for some burning of the background and the two stumps. Tech stuff: ISO 100, f/7.1, 1/20 second, manual, pattern metering, 80mm.

Superb capture and processing Trey. It's good to look at the finer detail in the smaller areas of our forests and woodlands. The intricate details in nature can often be easily missed. Your processing has brought out the richness of the colours that can be seen when we turn our eyes down a little.   Posted: 01/13/2021 04:35:43
Great eye. and nice processing. I'd like to see the top of the left stump though. To me, just me, it adds more character. I'm with Ian: I need to look down more often.   Posted: 01/13/2021 09:25:56
Trey - I do like the image, and your impeccable PP. I do tend to agree with Sanford on the crop, tho.   Posted: 01/14/2021 05:10:47
Very nice image Trey. The fern provides a nice leading line into the image. Without looking at the original the left stump looks like a tree so I didn't think I needed to see all of it. Great clarity and so much texture. Well done!   Posted: 01/14/2021 18:12:02
Great image Trey. I like all the varied textures and colors brought out in processing. I happen to like the cropping you chose, to emphasize the fern as the main subject.   Posted: 01/16/2021 14:18:10
