About the Image(s)

This photo was taken at a park about 30 minutes from my home. I was probably 2 weeks too early for the best colors. I took many shots from this location with my tripod. Each reflection was different depending on the wind. In this shot the water was calm in the center and just starting to move along the shore. No cropping, just some exposure and other adjustments in Lightroom. Pentax K-1, f16, ISO 100, 1/15 sec at 31mm, polarizer filter.

Excellent processing that keeps and brings out the hues without overdoing. Leading lines into the image are nice.   Posted: 11/08/2020 12:40:29

Jay - I really like your composition, and the calm reflection. You have done a great job with PP. I kept looking at the image, and I believe it is not quite straight, so I straightened it .67 by focusing on the tree at the rear and it's reflection, and heightened a few colors. Thoughts?   Posted: 11/09/2020 05:50:26

You have a good eye Cyndy. I do like it better after straightening. I did not notice it, but I will look closer in the future.   Posted: 11/10/2020 20:41:32

At this time, for some technical reason, I am unable to see anyone's images in the usual group page, so I am viewing the images from your original emails that you all sent to me. So I can't see Cyndy's offered image. But I must say Jay, this is one of the best reflection images I have seen anywhere in quite a while. Your composition of the elements is first rate. The colors presented to you have been used extremely well. Congratulations on this superb image Jay.   Posted: 11/17/2020 17:57:55

Wow Jay. So very nice. You have done a beautiful job in post processing. The colors simply pop. I didn't see that it needed straightening, but sometimes we all see things differently. I love how the moving water breaks the reflection and helps lead your eyes into the image. Great job!   Posted: 11/19/2020 13:50:00

The sky and autumn reflections are what sells this image and I like the "V" of the shoreline and treeline to guide the eye into the image. I hope you went back in a week to see better colors! Very well done and it could be a page in a calendar for October!   Posted: 11/21/2020 10:16:06

Thanks Trey. I did go back, but the weather was bad, total cloud cover.   Posted: 11/22/2020 10:48:45
