About the Image(s)

I recently printed a book of images that I transformed into Travel Journal-like drawings that I wish I had the time to do for real. This was my favorite.

Sanford - I really like this type of image, and your choice was very well done! The composition is very good, the canal curve leading us into the image. The color choices are muted, as a painting might be, I think well chosen to subtle. It brings a smile and memories to me. Great job!   Posted: 05/11/2020 06:36:28

You should be extremely proud of this one Sanford, it is simply superb. You have chosen the right topic and particularly the image to give it the watercolor treatment. The textured white edging, the dappled colors especially in the sky are all superbly done. When I look at your original image and then your main image, I would not hesitate in believing that an artist saw your photo and asked if they could do a painting of it. I have seen the word used in our group many times, have absolutely no idea what it means, but I get the feeling it's a good word. Kudos. Down here I think we would say "Ripper Rita".   Posted: 05/12/2020 03:55:10

This is a beautiful final image. Very creative in the conversion to a watercolor painting. I think the work you did on the border of the photograph was outstanding. It really looks like a fine painting.   Posted: 05/14/2020 14:50:28
