About the Image(s)

In February we had an ice storm followed by a light snowfall. This branch was coated with ice, and then snowflakes stuck to the ice. This is a tree in my neighbor’s yard. I made a few Lightroom adjustments and decided to be a little artistic and darken the background in Photoshop. Pentax K-1, ISO 200, f5, 1/400 at 50mm.

I can feel the low temperature Jay. Your cropping is perfect as is the total post processing.   Posted: 05/03/2020 10:12:31

Thanks Jorn. It actually snowed here 3 days ago.   Posted: 05/14/2020 20:35:21

Jay - I like the way you have cropped and darkened the background clutter of branches, to deemphasize them. The branch itself is quite lovely, in my opinion. Major PP work from the original, making it look quite dramatic. Kudos!   Posted: 05/03/2020 13:00:35

This is a stunning image Jay. Like Jorn's this month, simple yet strong. Your processing has really made that really jump out. The ice, colors and sharpness are really first rate. The only other thing I would do with this image is hang it on a wall. Very well done indeed.   Posted: 05/12/2020 03:45:46
