Still at the Palm Beach Zoo… I liked the light falling on one side of the tortoise while the other side went to shadow.
Canon 5DM3 Sigma Contemporary 421.00mm, 1/800 sec, f /6.3, shutter priority, pattern metering
ACR, dodge & burn, high pass sharpen, then a slight orton to soften and lighten a bit.

A superb image Cyndy. He's got his eye on you and he's on his way. Might take him a little while, but there is determination on that face. Your processing is first rate, great separation between the face and shell give a great impression of depth. The tones, colors and shadows all combine to make this an extremely strong image. A mug only a mother could love! Nice sharp capture, love the shell behind. I would have made it a square image and cropped close, less is more in this case to my eye. Also made it B&W but I think the color beats that.Beautifully posed and captured! Posted: 10/12/2019 14:59:34
Trey - thanks, I do like your BW rendition, but also agree that I prefer the muted colors better. Personally, I like the original sizing better as it allows the eye to move up in the frame, and the eye isn't quite dead center. Posted: 10/13/2019 06:41:19
