You caught the perfect colored bird for that clear, intensely blue sky. I like the diagonal composition and think that your DoF and shutter speed were appropriate. In terms of processing, at least on my monitor, the underside of the left wing is very dark and I'm thinking would show off the colors of the bird if that shadow was decreased.   Posted: 10/11/2020 18:54:21

What a striking image! I've been to the Harris hawk demo at the Sonoran Desert Museum and didn't get anything as good as this. I agree with Janice that some gentle lightening of the underside of the wings would bring out the color and detail better.   Posted: 10/17/2020 12:23:31

Thom, I find this to be a very nice image. I like your composition and the adjustments you made. The image appears sharp to me with a good depth of field. I like the catch light in the eye.   Posted: 10/18/2020 13:36:40

Your composition and the sharpness of the image do justice to the beauty and power of this bird. Nice shot   Posted: 10/21/2020 02:58:26
