Hi Ying,
Wow, you capture "the moment". This is nice!
First of all, would you share how did you shoot this with us?
Title says flamingos over a lake. Is this a lake?
My question is which is your main subject, flamingos or colorful lakes?
If the main subject is flamingos, B&W might be the right choice. But I wanted to see the flamingos more dramatically.
If the main subject is a lake, I like your color version. Beautiful colors instantly catch my eye with big impact.   Posted: 09/01/2020 21:14:43

Thanks for your comments. This photo was shot in Kenya on a helicopter. It is a lake. The rich colors on the lake and the flying flamingos interweave to form a very beautiful pattern. The flamingo and the lake surface as a whole form the main body of this work.   Posted: 09/03/2020 19:35:08

A very interesting composition with the two diagonal lines crossing each other. I also like the tonal range where you have both complete black and white and nice grey tones.

For the future, I would ask you to describe a bit more about how you capture the pictures and your post processing, so we all could learn from it.   Posted: 09/03/2020 23:50:42

This image has a kind of surreal feel to it. As Arne mentioned the crossing diagonal lines are interesting. I think the monochrome version really makes it difficult to see a lake (even the color version, to me, doesn't resemble a typical lake image) and the birds are mere dots in the landscape. Nothing appears as what it is. I like it!   Posted: 09/14/2020 12:19:03

Hi Ying
You must had plenty of time spent in the air while you were in Kenya looking at this picture and previous images. You have captured this image perfectly with the diagonals across the image and I like mono conversion but either image works well with me. Just a question, when I was taking pictures from the helicopter I was told because you are so high you camera is already at infinity and you should be at you lowest "F" stop number and speed above 2000.   Posted: 09/23/2020 02:04:22

Beautiful image ! ! !
I think that a Wild-life photographer would love how BW shows off the flamingos and a Landscape photographer would love the colors of the lake.
Wonderful composition ! !   Posted: 09/24/2020 10:04:44
