About the Image(s)

I took this picture during a trip to NY in August. I wanted to put attention to Brooklyn instead of too much on the bridge. The symmetry was important, for example, to get the flag in the middle between the wires. The post production is mainly removing people in the foreground and lighting up the buildings. I have used Lightroom and Photoshop.

Camera: Canon 5D mark 4 with Tamron 15-30 mm at 15 mm
Shutter: 1/125 sec, Aperture: f/8, ISO: 200

I like old bridge lamps from flaming arc ones to new led ones e.g. Brooklyn's are so decorative. It's a good idea to put flag in the middle of wires even if it is so far. Arne, where was your focus point(s) in this pic? 15mm did its job well.   Posted: 12/03/2019 05:20:16

An interesting perspective for this bridge. You did a good job taking out the near people. It seems a little dark to me. Looking at the color version the cables standout much more than in the B&W version.   Posted: 12/14/2019 23:23:32

The picture is to be very sharp and I agree with Pamela that I feel the whole picture is to dark. Also looking at the picture I feel they you need to maybe crop the picture so that the rule of thirds apply so that even the sky comes down or the horizon comes up.   Posted: 12/15/2019 23:19:11

Definitely a different shot of the bridge. Seems to me that if you want to emphasize the city, you have to crop out a significant amount of the upper portion of the image. Agree with Pamela and David about the overall darkness.   Posted: 12/16/2019 13:14:39

I like the composition the way it is.
Rules are just suggestions and do not need to be follow all the time.
The monochrome version definitely show the intention of the image more.
Blue can become brighter or darker in monochrome; the darker tone that the blue became detract attention .
The tall bridge posts creates a mood that would be lost if it get crop.
The monochrome version is definitely my favorite.   Posted: 12/27/2019 15:36:13
