About the Image(s)

I do flower arrangements and love the graceful lines created by line flowers or grasses.
Took this snap shot along the road against a background of green grass.
In Lightroom I just converted the image into monochrome and decrease the luminosity of green and easily isolated the grass from its background.
Some of the texture of the grass might had been lost in the conversion.

Which version do you like better ?

Sony RX10 1/80 sec f/4 ISO 200

A simple and graphical look which I like. You have found an easy way to mask out the background, but I find the remains a bit disturbing. I think painting with a dark brush could have solved the problem.   Posted: 08/09/2019 00:48:32

I prefer the monochrome version. The contrast between subject and background gives the scene a completely different feeling than the original. The monochrome version has more impact than the original.   Posted: 08/09/2019 18:34:09

I like both images. Each one evokes a different emotion. I think the B&W image would be helped by putting a small stroke around it or a suitable frame. As I currently view it I don't know where the edge of the image is as it is blending into the background.   Posted: 08/13/2019 17:28:14

I like the monochrome image. I agree with Arne's comment about the background remnants.   Posted: 08/14/2019 10:27:15
