Golden Gate Bridge by Peter Cheung

November 2020 - Golden Gate Bridge

About the Image(s)

This photo was taken in Baker Beach when we visited San Francisco last month. The bridge was initially only half visible because of thick fog that night. Fortunately, after we waited for over an hour the fog started clearing out. I used slower shuttle speed in order to capture the movement of the wave. The camera settings are Nikon D850, Nikon 24-70mm, f/13, 2.5 secs, 70mm, iso-200

I don't think there is a more iconic shot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Your execution on this one is beautiful, love the slow shutter speed and what it does to the water. You even got a small reflection of the colors from the bridge. And of course the bridge draws you right into Sausalito. Such a photogenic city, I rarely do cityscapes but I think I might if I go back to San Francisco sometime after the Covid Crisis is over.   Posted: 11/09/2020 14:48:13

Beautiful photo. I really like the fog and the water spray.
Excellent job of giving us a unique view of the bridge. I would put this up on my wall any day over a clear photo of the bridge. This one really speaks the story of the day.

Unique perspective. I also noticed the small reflection of the color which makes more interesting the foreground.   Posted: 11/13/2020 02:10:06

A very well done classic shot of this landmark. All the elements are here with the leading lines of the foreground rocks matching the angle of the bridge. I like the 2.5 second exposure time and the effect of the waves.   Posted: 11/13/2020 06:05:07

Baker Beach and the Golden Gate Bridge - I have family just north of that area and been there many times.
I might have cropped the bottom a bit but otherwise the fog and mist are very nice with the backdrop of the GGB. Nice.   Posted: 11/14/2020 11:18:57
