Hong Hong Skyline by Peter Cheung

March 2020 - Hong Hong Skyline

About the Image(s)

This picture was taken in Oct last year when I visited Hong Kong at that time. The image was taken from the 100th floor in the Sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck. The observation deck is circular so we can view 360 degree of the city. The camera settings are Nikon D810, Nikkor 18-35mm, f/5.6, 29mm, 13 secs, iso-100. In post-processing, I converted the photo to black and white, adjust the perspective of the image, and increased contrast.

WOW! Just incredible skyline. Overwhelming number of buildings and an interesting choice of the Black and White, but I really like it. I would not have thought to do that but it is stunning and reminds me to try new things more often!   Posted: 03/13/2020 10:37:20

November 2019 vs March 2020 ??? Both wonderful images Peter, the same yet different. Both are exceptional Peter. Very well presented in both genres.   Posted: 03/16/2020 06:54:36

A stunning shot Peter. I like the monochrome image and more impact. I left Hongkong more than 50 years ago and went back for visit few times. It is amazing how fast the city grows. Due to the problems have over there now, I will not go back for a while.   Posted: 03/16/2020 16:26:58

It is a wow-photo indeed. I've never been to Hong Kong but now I put it on my list. B&W was a very good choice. I am big fan of puzzles, I can imagine a 2000 pieces puzzle from this image, it would take months to put it together :)   Posted: 03/17/2020 05:02:31
