About the Image(s)

The photo was taken a few years ago in the Dachstein mountains, Austria. We went up with the cable car to the top (3000 m), but unfortunately the weather was not too good for taking photos. Coming back with the last cable car, close to sunset, a storm was approaching, the car had even to stop a while. And that was my lucky hour, I could take a few shots with the apocalyptic view.

Beautiful! You were lucky on many counts. First and foremost you got to the bottom with no mishaps, but this view is fantastic. My experience in a cable car was at Mount Blanc and the car was crammed full of people like sardines. So not only were you fortunate that you had to stop but also that you were able to reach the wind to be able to take these images. Stunning landscape! Did you frame it?   Posted: 01/09/2020 10:48:30

A wonderful image Janos. I find the tones quite haunting. The cool and peaceful blues in the bottom and the hellish hot yellows at the top provide a strong juxtaposition. The Alps, either Austrians or Swiss have always attracted and called me. Perhaps one day I will get there.   Posted: 01/13/2020 02:53:20

I like this one, great lighting and the clouds wow, only wish the sun was not in the middle - maybe crop a little.   Posted: 01/27/2020 22:59:11
