Lake Como, Italy by Sherry Icardi

November 2019 - Lake Como, Italy

About the Image(s)

This was taken at the dock in Lake Como. Such a beautiful place, reminds me of Annapolis, Maryland also a huge sailing town. Just very small hills. Maggiore and Como are just peaceful quiet towns in the Lake District of Italy. From a landscape perspective my trip to the Alps was jam packed with great landscape opportunities.

Taken with D750
32 mm (24-120mm Nikkor)
1/3200 sec exposure

Hi Sherry, I hope you are going well in Kenya. Tell me, have you taken a photo yet? As always, your image is great and just purely for the point of discussion, what about a pano? Yes, the hill top provides an elevated horizon to the image, but so does the mountain in top left of the frame. Is there anything of necessity or importance to the image in the top portion of the mountain? Does loosing the top detract from the overall image? Are your eyes then forced to look at the boats and their reflections? Just thinking out loud. What do you and the other group members think?   Posted: 11/04/2019 04:08:15

Sherry, I fully agree that lake Como and surrounding Alps (and all Italy :)) is a beautiful place.
I agree - more or less - with Ian, I would also crop the image to have more boats and reflections, but not as much. I prefer more sky. Nice photo.   Posted: 11/11/2019 01:41:48
