Golden Gate Bridge by Peter Cheung

August 2019 - Golden Gate Bridge

About the Image(s)

Deion: The picture was taken last month in San Francisco during sunset. It was very windy that night. In order to capture the wildflowers on the foreground, I need to use higher speed and high iso to avoid blur because of wind. The camera settings are Nikon D810, Nikon 14-24mm, ISO-1008, f/11, 1/320 secs, 14mm. For post-processing, I need to light up the shadow of the foreground, darken the highlight, and increase contrast and colors temperature.

Superb composition and time of day Peter. Your construction of this image is top class. Wildflowers in the foreground with sun setting in the background give good depth. Not all photos have to be without blur. Winds do blow and cause flowers and trees to bend, that's all part of our environments. So the flowers and tree bending, for me, add to this image. And the birds having their final fly at days end before nesting is a very nice element in the image. I hope you thanked them.   Posted: 08/16/2019 17:46:12

Unique and beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Love sunrises/sunsets and that hillside makes a wonderful leading line into the bridge and then your eye wanders over to the mountains, then the birds and lastly that beautiful sunset. The composition on this is really lovely. The pop of the pink and yellow flowers just adds one more beautiful touch to this fantastic image!   Posted: 08/21/2019 14:27:27
