About the Image(s)

Learn by taking a chance and doing something different.

As promised, here is a very simple shot. I'm open to opinions. This shot was taken in the golden hour before sunset. The sun was just to my left. Can you see the riders coming towards you out of the haze?

Suggest you bring out the detail in the darker parts of the scene, you could try to lighten the shadows or perhaps use detail extractor like Nik. You could also use the dehaze in LR . Having the fog/haze is fine, but it is to the point of obstructing the mountains. When you are shooting think about what you want the focal point of the picture to be.....in this picture I can't decide if it is about the mountains, sunset, or fog. Even if it is the fog, being able to see some detail in mountains would add a great deal to the picture.   Posted: 01/09/2018 09:49:13

Good for you taking a chance.Sherry suggestions are good ones.I would try a polarizing filter and crop the sky down to the first set of clouds leaving just a hint of blue.   Posted: 01/09/2018 16:01:18

Agree with both Sherry & Tony, a polarizer would help here especially with the light coming from the side. Maybe I'm too gullible but I've spent way too much time looking for riders! :)   Posted: 01/09/2018 20:01:05

Hi Steven, Good mood in this image, especially as you took it in that hour just before sunrise. However, I must agree with the others in that I would like to see some more detail in the overall image.   Posted: 01/16/2018 05:53:27

Thanks for your encouraging comments. My wife had a hip replacement back at Thanksgiving, she is recovering very nicely and even back to work. I've had the role of live-in butler, medical assistant, et.al. My things are catching up and I hope to get out with the camera soon.
