About the Image(s)

I was recently traveling the Oregon coast and always try the Ft Stevens park to shoot the Peter Iredale wreck on the beach. This time, I wanted a night shot with the Milky Way, but the moon was just to bright looking South, so I turned around and took the shot with the big dipper instead. Nikon Z7 with 28-300 Nikkor lens @ 28mm, f4, ISO 1250, for 10 sec. PP done in PSCC with mostly light adjustments in the sky and on the Iredale and some distracting lights removed.

Walt, very mysterious image. I am very curious to know how the wreck was illuminated. Light painting ?? Your PP eliminated the distracting light making the wreck prevail in the image. The big dipper is perfectly exposed. I probably would crop slightly to the left of the wreck since there is nothing but empty space.   Posted: 10/14/2020 15:25:14

Walt, I like your creativity in this one. The image is really dark on my monitor. I have seen many photographs from this wreck but never one at night. Really cool image, would like to see one with no moon to block the stars. Bruce   Posted: 10/21/2020 13:28:04
