About the Image(s)

While exploring a local arboretum near me, I came across a lovely garden full of different dahlias. This particular dahlia appealed to me because of the rain drops falling from the bud.

I used a Nikon 850 with a Sigma 105 mm lens with the following settings: ISO=400, 105 mm, F10, 1/250.

Using Lightroom I cropped the image and I adjusted the tone, contrast, highlights, shadows, texture and clarity. Then I used Silver Efex to convert to Black and White.

Marie, your Nikon D850 with its 46 megapixels files allowed you to crop the image to this extent and still preserve detail in the crying dahlia. The two tears which are sort of back lith is the highlight of the image (no pun intended). Your PP, cropping and B&W interpretation created a master piece from a snapshot.   Posted: 10/02/2020 16:03:23

Marie, Another really nice image. Really nice especially for such a large crop. Bruce   Posted: 10/04/2020 15:34:19
