About the Image(s)

I took this image at a small pond where I walk my dog every morning. The little green herons love to make a visit to each of the lilly pads to search of small fish hiding underneath the pads.

Bruce, your crop really makes this photo! You did a great job of bringing out the bubbles of water! I also like seeing the outlines of the wing feathers. Great shot!   Posted: 06/04/2020 19:08:32

Bruce, great capture at the peak of the action when the little Green Heron captured the fish (good size) and the movement was frozen showing the water droplets still in the air. Nice pond that the bird found with a secure source of food. The image is very sharp and the colors are very balanced. It is unfortunate that the big leaf of the lilies plant is partially blocking the bird. The flower (blurred) just below the bird complements the environment. Good crop and composition.   Posted: 06/10/2020 10:40:12

Bruce, excellent capture! The eye is sharp and the background is blurred nicely. The frozen water drops show the motion of the catch. The colors and detail of the heron are spot on, and the crop and pp are well done.   Posted: 06/20/2020 11:51:22

Bruce, what a fabulous catch! I love the way the eye of the heron and the fish form an imaginary line as do the water drops and the water splashing out of the heron's beak.   Posted: 06/20/2020 13:00:40

I love this photo Bruce! It looks somehow as you are below the bird, taking the image with a wide angle! So unusual and that is part of its strength.

I don't find the close up leaves distracting - they help to tell the story of the location to me. Yes, very sharp and we'll developed. Thank you for posting this!   Posted: 06/25/2020 11:48:58
