About the Image(s)

This image was taken many years ago (april of 2006) in Peru with my original Canon Digital Rebel! Aperture at f9, shutter at 1/640 and ISO set to 100. I was using a zoom lens set to 240mm. It was saved as a Canon Raw image. Thanks to Adobe Bridge for giving me the data after so many years! (When I look back at older digital images, I am pleased to see that I make better exposure captures these days.)

Mary, beautiful landscape with the contrast of a snowed mountain, and planted green fields. The zoom lens @ 240 mm did compress somehow the image. The clouds on the ski add drama as well and from its position, you were at a pretty high altitude. It is sharp and nicely composed. The brown stroke also separates the image from the black background.   Posted: 03/05/2020 13:58:30

A quality landscape Mary! There is interest throughout the image and one has a great sense of scale. I like the separation of the snowy mountains and the grey sky.   Posted: 03/14/2020 14:39:26

Beautiful image, Mary. I like the layers and patterns of interest as my eye travels through the scene. Your exposure is wonderful as is the overall color harmony. Lovely image.

BTW, I was tickled to run across your name among PSA DD Groups. You might remember me on the Road Scholar Photo Trip in Summer 2015 that you led in Pingree Valley, Colorado. I still remember the wonderful climb up to 10,000 ft to see Cirque Meadow followed by the deluge of rain that was visited on us on the trip back down to the CSU mountain campus. Thanks again for a wonderful trip.   Posted: 03/16/2020 10:23:54

I really enjoy this shot. I must admit I am a mountain junkie. The patchwork foreground adds a lot of interest as does the mountain and clouds. Your PP did well to brighten and highlight the sharp contrasts between the two. The only other thing would to sharpen this with AI Clear. Well done.   Posted: 03/30/2020 11:56:03

What a lovely image, Mary! The patterns in the field and the contrast in the image are very effective. I love the crispness of the mountain.   Posted: 03/30/2020 11:57:57

Mary, another beautiful image, with a lot of interesting things to look at. The patchwork of farms all have nice textures and the clouds on the left at very dramatic.   Posted: 03/30/2020 15:15:29
