About the Image(s)

This image of rare Greater Adjutant Stork I have taken at Guwahati Zoo, Assam, India. Though this is not a captive bird. They are scavengers and their population is confined to two small groups in the north eastern part of India and Bangladesh.

Taken this image using a Nikon D5300 with a Tamron SP 150-600mm G2 lens. Settings were f/6, 1/640sec, ISO-1250, FL-450mm and handheld. Post processing is done in LR-Classic CC. Brushed out the metal mesh towards right. Done some sharpening with color correction.

This looks like the Marabou Stork found in Africa, They are all over the city of Kampala, Uganda. You did a good job of brushing out the mesh. Nice color and sharpness. The bright areas near the head and back are a little distracting and would like to see a little more space around the bird. Bruce   Posted: 06/08/2018 16:10:58

Excellent detail and color. Your depth of field appears perfect though I am surprised since you were f/6 at 450mm. I agree with Bruce, a little more space around the bird would be helpful. (Reminds me of some older relatives of mine.)   Posted: 06/08/2018 17:13:10

Abhijeet, this is the first time I see this bird. I agree with Bruce and Kent about the work you did to remove the metal mesh, but I also agree that the crop is really very tight amputating the back of the bird and the legs. The colors are well managed and the image is sharp. I would like to see more of the environment as well.   Posted: 06/11/2018 08:47:21
