About the Image(s)

My wife and I drove across Southern Colorado in October. When we stopped at a lake for a picnic, I noticed the pretty reflection of a mountain in a small stream. I liked the banded blues and browns and especially enjoyed looking at the mountain’s reflection in the water. I’m finding that I enjoy these abstract shots when the more majestic opportunities aren’t there. This was shot with a Canon 7D, using a 70-300 mm lens. I did some cropping in Lightroom and basic, simple adjustments. I don’t spend a lot of time in front of a computer. I try to keep things on about the same level as what I could do in an old-fashioned darkroom.

I love anyting presenting the vast landscape and nature. This is one of them. The fence helps to identify the scale and make you feel the existence of front large lake (till read your creek description) and endless grassland on the back. The only thing I would try is to remove some of the top grassland to see any difference. Good capture.   Posted: 04/16/2021 19:26:39
