View of San Diego from Cuyamaca Mountains by John Zhu

September 2020 - View of San Diego from Cuyamaca Mountains

About the Image(s)

This photo was taken this August at Cuyamaca mountains east of San Diego. The view is from east to west: the Pacific. It was clear at the mountain but San Diego far away was covered with ocean mists. It was just after sunset. It was stitched with three shots (each with 3 HDRs) with a tripod. The elevation is around 5000 feet. It was taken with a Nikin Z7 and 28-300mm lens.

Beautiful sunset view. Can't think of a way to improve it. I notice that you used at Nikon 28-300 mm lens. I've got a 70-300 mm Canon lens and use it on about 75% of my shots these days. Both your Nikon version and my Canon are super versatile and provide some nice sharp images.   Posted: 09/06/2020 17:49:22

Lovely image. I particularly like the depth from the layers.   Posted: 09/06/2020 18:23:26

Beautiful. I didn't notice it the first time I looked, but there is tremendous detail along the ridge lines, fields and two houses, I think. I have never tried HDR and only played with panoramas....I am going to mead to explore both, the results I have seen here are extraordinary!   Posted: 09/07/2020 09:44:05

Great job of getting a foreground, mid-ground and background and making them all look good and contribute to the total image.   Posted: 09/11/2020 14:35:54
