January 2020 - Columbia River Gorge

About the Image(s)

My husband had to come to Portland for a work trip and I joined him. Not sure it was my smartest move as I am still recovering from being pretty sick, but it was planned a while ago. I took this yesterday at the Vista House. It was my first time being back along the Historic Columbia River Highway since the fire in 2017. After driving along and photographing the waterfalls that are right by the road, I ended here as the sun tried breaking through the clouds for a bit. I think I just enjoyed seeing the clouds reflected in the water.

What a beautiful scenery. Love the peaceful water and the cloud and its reflection. Wish you the best and recovery soon.   Posted: 01/13/2020 14:44:38

Lovely shot. The clouds reflected in the water are creating nice patterns. Cropping to the left of the stump on the right narrows the focus more toward the 'island' area in the center. Sounds like you had a nice trip aside from not feeling well. I'm looking forward to seeing the waterfalls! ;-)   Posted: 01/14/2020 18:25:44

Excellent choice of a panorama. Hope you've fully recovered.   Posted: 01/17/2020 05:38:35

So peaceful. Doing what you love can be healing. Hope you are stronger for it. I think you could crop on the right but maybe keep the stump for a 'stopper' on the right side.
Lovely pastoral clouds and reflections, reminds me of an Impressionist show I just saw in Tacoma on Sunday.
I also wonder if you would try it in Sepia, Silver Efex Pro.   Posted: 01/23/2020 20:11:53
