Pyramid Lake by Trinda Love

October 2019 - Pyramid Lake

About the Image(s)

Here is an image I shot during September in Jasper of Pyramid Lake shortly after sunrise. Well, maybe an hour or more actually. It was shot on my Nikon Z7 with a wide angle Nikkor lens 18-35 F3.5 to 4.5 at 25mm. I used F-11 with an ISO of 100 on a tripod at 125 of a second.

I didn't bump the blue although it looks as if I did. Shot in Raw of course. I didn't do anything to this except a tiny bit of haze and lighten the shadows.

Wow, its so gorgeous up there!! I did go to Morant's curve and waited for the train but my shot isn't as pretty as the one we saw in our group earlier. I even tried a night shot at Morant's curve but the train came around the corner with his high beams on so it wasn't too great.

Well composed. I'm OK with the saturation of colors.   Posted: 10/09/2019 18:41:02

I love the color tune of the image especially the Aspen trees. My eye is focused on the water, mountains/trees, and the cloud. Those make me feel peace and a sense of beauty. I don't like the left tree, it is a bit dominant.

I was there month ago and waited hour at Morant curse for a train/mountain shot. Love Canadian Rockies. Also it reminds me of environment protection, so much pine trees are dead at Jasper.

Wow, what a beautiful composition. I love all the colors and textures. I don't feel it's oversaturated. The clouds circling the mountain looks wonderful. I see one sensor spot to the right of the mountain tip that you could remove. You could crop a little of the tree on the left, but I like that it's a frame on that side. I love the reflections. Awesome shot!   Posted: 10/18/2019 18:06:01
