About the Image(s)

Trying to capture and convey a pleasing pastoral scene in early morning light. Shot at about 20mm focal length , iso 100 on a tripod, but I do not have the exposure information.

This is a charming scene. I don't know your intent, but I suggest to lighten the barn just a bit, because the detail is all there. I used PS Elements "Lighten Shadows." How does this look to you?   Posted: 04/07/2021 14:12:44

I would agree with Stephen's processing of this charming scene. In reality, the shadow details of the barn would be hard to see even in our naked eyes. However, the dark area of the barn occupied such large area of the image, without showing the details in the shadow, it caused the image to be rather unbalanced. Furthermore, the aging wood paneling of the barn was quite interesting. The spot light on the grass was very nicely captured juxtaposed against the dark barn. The window at the far end of the barn created a bit of mystery and kept the viewer's interest.   Posted: 04/11/2021 15:20:31

Shooting into the misty early morning light peeking through under the trees and back-lighting the red grasses of fall draw me in. Just a lovely mood and atmosphere. The barn with its see through window view is a great supporting element. There's an implied line along the right edge of the red grasses that points to the barn window as does the line formed where the mowing stops. Personally I'm drawn to the light and the mysterious untamed wilder left side and feel a bit can be cropped off the right side to eliminate the bright field on the right edge and de-center the barn. Also pull some more detail out of the barn siding.   Posted: 04/20/2021 13:20:40

Nice moody image with the steam lit by the sunlight. I agree with the shadow lightning proposed by Stephen. No other suggestion.   Posted: 04/21/2021 09:57:34
