No where Nevada by Todd Paige

April 2021 - No where Nevada

About the Image(s)

I couldn't resist making a photo when we came across this spot.

Shot on tripod, 3 frame pano, each frame with bracket of 5 exposures, base exposure 1/750 sec, f9.5, iso 100. 100-400 lens at 176mm focal length. Processed in LR HDR Pano. I choose to keep the structure in the middle of the 3:1 pano in order to emphasis the great empty expanse of NO WHERE NEVADA.

This linear graphically strong foreground element makes this landscape image more interesting and eye-catching and allows me to study the view as if I was standing there alongside you. Landscape is composed of foreground, middle ground, and background.

It also adds depth and provides a sense of scale, which helps me understand how extensive the scene is. In addition, the text asks questions and causes me to pause and analyze its context.

Well seen, composed, and processed Todd. Pleasing muted color palette.   Posted: 04/16/2021 10:21:08

Concerning composition and placing the subject in the center, I LOVE what Picasso said: "Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist."   Posted: 04/16/2021 10:44:29

Everything about this image works ! One of the great draws of the Southwest is that the arid weather makes things last forever. Civilization here, such as it was, has long since departed this desolate area, and your composition worthily presents elements that completely characterize it.   Posted: 04/21/2021 08:30:36
