About the Image(s)

Golden Gate, San Francisco, USA.

Canon 6D – 1/100 sec at f/ 11, ISO 100, 45 mm (E 24-105 mm f/4 L IS USM).

I found this RAW file when organizing my external HD recently. I took this image in Fall 2013. The original RAW was so dull and boring. I was tempted to post process it to make it more presentable and worth keeping it in my ‘Travel Photo Collections’. Please feel free if you have any comments.

The Golden Gate Bridge is so often photographed, it is hard to get a unique shot, but I think you have a very good idea to set the bridge to one side, and show that it is the gateway to open water.   Posted: 08/03/2019 20:00:06

It is a nice image that is well exposed, colorful, and captures the freshness of the salt air! I take the opposite view from Stephen, and to my eye the image feels unbalanced with too much open space on the right. I think it is a case of what you want to be the subject of your image - the bridge or the open bay and mountains beyond.   Posted: 08/07/2019 09:50:21

This travel image is sharp with good tonal range, contrast, and correct exposure of the bridge and what's beyond. The red boat you added provides scale and improves it. So technically it's fine, but it's missing something to stop my gaze to just explore and make me go Wow.

Perhaps the sentiment you have of what it took to get the image, or the people you were with when you shot it that gives it value to your collection.   Posted: 08/13/2019 14:57:08

Nice vibrant color in this image. You did a great job of cleaning up the foreground fence and power pole and I like the addition of the boat as it adds interest. I feel a bit could be cropped off the right side of the image. Nice job!   Posted: 08/14/2019 12:10:02

Hi Frans. To my eye this is a great shot of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. You have emphasized the bridge's redness which is very pleasing. There has been some discussion about the space on the right but I think this adds to the story and gives the bridge a little room to breathe. You have handled the foreground well and the colourful flowers add to the overall scene. The position of the boat is perfect. I also like how you have removed the distracting fence. Well Done. FG: That's exactly what I want. I purposely allow some space on the right to get the sense of moving boat. Thanks Glen. Posted: 08/19/2019 22:16:09   Posted: 08/19/2019 22:18:17

Nice viewpoint of this iconic bridge. Might be a touch oversaturated from my taste. Nicely framed.
