About the Image(s)

Here are my photos for this month. For this month I tried working with another old photo. In Lightroom I used the black and white settings and then applied a vignette. The flower in the top right appeared in the image still so I used photoshop to paint over that part. Besides that I also cropped the image to center the flower. I took this photo in July on a cloudy day which helped but I feel that some details where still lost. Also I used my iPhone 6s again to take the photo.

Title for unedited flower: Summer Flower

Jacob, this is your best picture so far. Well done. Your b&w conversion works well and you have done a great job eliminating the background and allowing the flower to "float".
I have extended the canvas at the top so that the petal does not touch the edge of the frame and added 2 pixel white stroke. I think this gives it a better finish. What do you think?   Posted: 04/10/2021 10:26:03

Jacob, this is very good work. You edited the flower well. The b&w conversion was a good choice, and the background treatment eliminated the distractions. I think Mervyn's finish helps the image. You should be proud.   Posted: 04/10/2021 13:23:49

Good on you Jacob, I guess you used photo room to get the black background. I have just got the i phone 12 and down loaded a few such aps great fun. I only use my camera for distant birds. Sorry I am rambling, like your treatment of the pic. Great how the i phone gives you such a depth of field. I do like the little extra room around the shot. I guess you achieved this snap seed well done.   Posted: 04/13/2021 22:14:08
