About the Image(s)
Hope you had a great Chris and are keeping safe. My next post is an Emu, the blue neck is associated with the bird being in the matting phase. F8 1/250sec 250mm. Taken in the Flinders Ranges South Australia. Sorry I have lost the original. I would have liked to focus stack to get the nose perfectly in focus but hand holding the camera in the wild was impossible. F22 would have been better but that would have meant a lower shutter speed and I could not go any lower. After Brenda’s comment about not worrying about ISO perhaps that would have been a good idea. I had to chase the little blighter for about an hour to get the shot. The eyes are what got me.

There is a little white hair on his head and a couple of dandruff spots I would remove (if not competing in PSA Nature).
I worked at a nature preserve and our emu never turned blue. We did see ostrich turn color in Africa. Lucky you!   Posted: 01/06/2021 19:52:21
The eyes make this picture so compelling and it works by being dead centered. The feathers standing up on his head add interest. In Covid lockdown, I always feel that my hair is standing up straight!   Posted: 01/09/2021 14:10:41
Do not mess with me!!! Fantastic capture. Very crisp and lively. Nice muted background. A keeper!

A face only a mother could love. The eyes are dramatic. I wonder what a crop that capture mostly just eyes or an eye would look like, if the resolution would hold up.
Here is my somewhat unusual crop.   Posted: 01/10/2021 11:44:28
