About the Image(s)

I hope you are having a good time! We are back in Florida--in Orlando. No photography yet, but kayaking and bicycling.

Here's my March info!

Canon 7D Mark II Tamron 18-400
ISO 400 30mm focal length f/9.0 1/320 sec

I photographed this at the Chicago Botanical Gardens last summer. It was windy and handheld, so I photographed somewhat fast. I then used a Topaz filter to create more of a painterly feel, since the original was a little too sharp and crisp (with no changes to the original raw file).

Thoughts?

Brenda, what a colorfull ( PS not sure but I think you spell colour or color) shot full of atmosphere. Great Idea back lighting it, gives the flowers depth. Lucky you having such colourful flowers, we are experiencing the biggest drought for years and our garden is suffering even though we have pumped heaps of water on to it. Sorry I cant think of any way of improving your pic.   Posted: 03/02/2019 01:29:35

Brenda,

I like it. I like the original too. It just depends on if one likes that softer Topaz look. The tilted horizon provides an interesting diagonal. I might darken the light area in the upper right background a bit.   Posted: 03/02/2019 11:40:46

It is pleasing in all that color. I do like the choice of backlighting the shot. I think I would have avoided the Topaz look though. This image would stand well without it.   Posted: 03/02/2019 18:39:28

Great color and composition. The Topaz filter has been well used and provides a very subtle effect to soften the harsh lighting of the original.   Posted: 03/05/2019 11:00:11

This would look nice on someone's wall. The Topaz filter does a good job of softening the image. Nice use of color.   Posted: 03/07/2019 21:21:56

The Topaz filter adds a dreamy look to this capture. I like it but I also like the original.
What is your reasoning for not having a horizontal horizon? Just wondering....   Posted: 03/08/2019 16:34:15
