About the Image(s)
The Snowy was taken fairly early in the morning, around 8:00am in January at our local bird sanctuary. The reflection makes this image special for me. I was experimenting with Manual exposure, which worked in this case as the whites were not completely blown out.
Canon 40D, 310mm. ISO400, f8, 1/1600secs

Yes, the reflection makes this image. The whites have excellent detail. The water has just enough movement to make the reflection unique.   Posted: 10/06/2018 19:59:43

Lovely! Nice mirror reflection. Good parameter selection.
It is very nice like this, but if it is possible to leave a little more room in front of this Egret, I believe that it would make it even more pleasing.   Posted: 10/06/2018 20:15:12

Nice capture, Mervyn! I also like the water texture, it adds a lot to the reflection. Nice clean eye and reflection.   Posted: 10/12/2018 20:25:42

Mervyn, This is wonderful. The water is beautiful, snowy's eye pops, great feather detail and a lovely reflection. If you would choose to separate the black beak from the water, a bit of dodging might do it.   Posted: 10/13/2018 21:56:23
Amazing photo and amazing bird... Heron and ergots are very interesting feeders. Different species have different preferred method. wings as shadow creator, hopping , stirring with the feet. Very interesting Great photo!! I enjoy the photos of the Florida birds. Nice memories.   Posted: 10/13/2018 23:18:06
