Pierre,

Normally, photos of squirrels don't do much for me but this one is very nice. I like the background of winter weather and the contrast between the snow and the fur of the black squirrel. In northern Michigan, it used to be that black squirrels were rare; now they have become much more common than the gray. I wonder what changed?   Posted: 01/08/2018 11:39:29

It was like that here in Niagara Falls where Black Squirrels started showing up, multiplying and replacing gray squirrels. Then it switched back again where the black squirrel is more rare. They came from Canada I believe. I agree, the low angle is very pleasing.   Posted: 01/11/2018 20:34:42

This is an unusual image for me here in Florida, and I admire you lying in the snow to get this angle. After all, it is always better to be at the animals eye level. My only suggestion is to clone a highlight into the animals left eye(our right side)   Posted: 01/11/2018 12:15:45

Pierre, what a cute little squirrel so cold in the snow. Everything appears sharp and the snow flakes all over the squirrel add to the drama. Its cute little pink nose and frosty lips with the eyes shining give this frozen creature a personality. The eye to eye angle is perfect. I would add a highlight to the eye as Mervyn suggested.   Posted: 01/13/2018 22:11:46

Brrrr cold !! This is clearly conveyed in the humped ..tucked posture ... dusted by snow really captures the sense of temperature (or lack of it.

Great eye level shot and I concur with the eye highlights as suggested.   Posted: 01/15/2018 08:26:58

I can't believe I missed getting this reviewed earlier! I love it! Fabulous catchlight in the eyes and the snow flakes add so much.   Posted: 01/25/2018 11:40:20
