About the Image(s)

This image is an orchid in the world's largest collection housed in a university. (The Orchid Greenhouse, Ball State University, Muncie IN USA) I used my Lumix with the Dr T macro lens for this view, it was a very bright day so the greenhouse was also very bright.

Betty, nice orchid colors; It looks a little soft to me on my monitor. I might have darkened the bright area in the background. It looks like a window.   Posted: 04/09/2021 12:35:55

Great 3D flower with good depth and interest. It looks a little soft to me too. The only thing that might be done is to try to de-focus or remove the distracting things in the background. My first reaction was if it had eyes and teeth, it could be a monster ready to eat me.   Posted: 04/12/2021 20:25:23

Nice start, but it could use some work. Using the Levels or Curves or even just Brightness and Contrast in photoshop could improve the colors and overall impact. In the upper left corner of the images the bright white in the right eye shot pulls too much attention away from the shot. It could be colored to match dark blue you see next to it and in the left eye shot.   Posted: 04/13/2021 12:55:32

Nice orchid flower. The image has nice depth and no window violation. I think the image needs some post processing. The bright area in the background is a distration. The image is soft and needs sharpening. I tried a quick correction of the above in photoshop and denoice in Topaz.   Posted: 04/22/2021 10:26:00
