About the Image(s)

I'm not sure what the original purpose of this structure was. It's a trench that's perfectly straight, lined with concrete, and several blocks long. It's part of a park area now. It's currently dry, but I assume it must carry water sometimes. Being of Dutch ancestry, I will call this a portland canal bridge until I learn differently.
Taken with a pair of Samsung Gear 360 dual fisheye cameras (showing front lens only), and processed in Gimp and SPM.
I realize the right and left are slightly off register. This happened because after I had adjusted the pair using SPM, I edited it in Gimp using the circle select to remove some edge noise. Then when I put it back into SPM, I noticed some errors so I ran auto adjust again, getting this result. I assume the difference is due to the way SPM read the lens distortion of the first adjustment. I tried a few other adjusted images, but this was the most comfortable, and I like the way the window seems to be forward of itself.

Great image. It makes me feel like I'm right down there in the "canal" looking close at the "bridge".   Posted: 10/09/2020 12:38:05

Steve, I really like this 3d picture. This is the kind of creative stuff that I like to do. I don't have a pair of fisheye cameras; but I do have a close-up adapter for my W3. However, it would not work with a scenic; only for close-up work; The depth in your photo is outstanding and your processing is very nice.   Posted: 10/11/2020 14:43:00

Interesting, I wonder if it was part of a canal at one time.

excellent stereo and it shows off the ditch well. It appears to be a flood ditch to control heavy storm water away from areas where it would cause damage. I have never heard of a Portland canal bridge I checked on Wikipedia and what is on your image is called on that a french footbridge. Again I have not heard of that before   Posted: 10/16/2020 15:21:48

Nice wide angle 3D shot. I liked the shot from a low angle. The image has nice depth. To me, the image is sharp, has nice composition, colors and resonably good lighting. Well done.   Posted: 10/20/2020 01:10:00
