This image was taken during the SLC conference in 2018. Camera Fuji FinePix W3. f/4, Exposure 1/60 sec, ISO-800 with fill in flash. The image was processed in SPM for alignmnet, saturation. Further processing of the pair was done in photoshop - shadows/highlihgts and noice reduction with Topaz plug-in.

The image looks great. Fill in flash with the W3 really helps with eliminating the odd shadows it makes. My grandfather was a blacksmith, but I never saw him at work. I'm sure he worked in a place just like this. Just an off the cuff comment, the handle of the ax looks to smooth and straight to be of that old era. One thing I don't see is the large bellows with a handle that my grandfather used to have. Any way - a good image.   Posted: 09/07/2020 16:26:48

Mohanan, There is a lot in this image, but it works ok. Good depth of field. I really like the anvil. I used to have one when I was younger. The only thing that I would do is make the image a little sharper.   Posted: 09/12/2020 13:57:02

The shot is of the ax in its block of wood and typical of a museum all very modern but it does set off the overall environment of a workshop with the fire, anvil and other items. Well chosen viewpoint and it tells the story   Posted: 09/22/2020 14:45:05
