About the Image(s)

This is another image from my trip in 2018 to Olympic National Park in the State of Washington. I was on a trail in the Hoh River rainforest and it was magical with the immense trees, ferns, and moss hanging from everything. This spot was convenient for a picture because there was a little of everything within the screen of my Fuji W3 camera. The trouble with this day in the rainforest was the contrasting light. I used Shadows and Highlights just a little because I still wanted to keep the soft look.

An appealing image with good depth throughout. Although there are window violations at top and bottom, they are not uncomfortable. You've done a good job of balancing the shadow and highlights, while keeping the translucent look of the hanging moss.   Posted: 12/14/2019 13:42:26

You have kept the soft look well but shadows and highlights has given you a slight colour cast which can easily be removed in Photoshop. I do like the viewpoint and the path leading into the trees and the lighting you have caught. I would have increased that by adding a white layer at about 20% to increase that feeling   Posted: 12/22/2019 08:31:54

The limb with moss and the vegetation at the lower right corner help give the image some depth. The image is filled with a lot of green vegetation which helps calm the eyes.   Posted: 12/25/2019 11:59:29

Nice image with good depth. The soft look and composition look good to me. Minor window violation on the right side can be corrected. I prefer to see the image with a little more correction on levels and hue. A quick trial is attached.   Posted: 12/28/2019 01:58:13

The path invites me to walk right in and see what's around the corner. I like the woods. Great image.
