4 Wheeling in Oregon by David Allen

About the Image(s)

Last week we went 4 wheeling with 2 vehicles - a 40 year old yellow Scout and a new red Rubicon. We found this old fallen tree in the trail that many had passed under. The Scout tried, but it was too tall. When backing out it slipped to the right and got caught between the tree and a stump. We had to use the cable on the Rubicon to pull the Scout over so it could get free. My advice is to always go 4 wheeling with a friend and have lots of fun. Taken with my W3 and cropped just a little.

IH Scout!! I learned to drive a red Scout. Interesting view and a reminder of a grand adventure.   Posted: 08/14/2019 10:10:51

A wonderful memory shot for you which you will be able to look back in years to come and remember all about the day. That is the full joy and importance of photography. Good stereo in the record.   Posted: 08/14/2019 16:53:35

Nice story and good depth of field; A good shot even though the red vehicle is not all in the picture; There seems to be some red color cast in the entire image.   Posted: 08/15/2019 20:04:30

Yes, I had to crop the left side because there was a bush there that was real close and would be out of the window. Interesting how you see some red cast to the entire image. I wonder if that's because your monitor has a slight different color cast than mine. On my monitor it seems to be pretty much the correct colors (maybe a little over saturated). A long time ago the Cascade Stereoscopic Club tried to have an exhibition totally on the internet. We had a judge in Idaho, one in California and one back east. They all got together on a conference call to pick the winners. They couldn't agree because one had an old CRT monitor with a gamma of .6, another had a bright new flat panel display with a gamma of 1 and the last had his monitor setup where black was way below the black of normal image. For a competition, all judges should see the image with the same display and hopefully that display is close to yours.   Posted: 08/16/2019 13:50:14

Good stereo image. Lighting looks good. I too feel a little red color cast in the image.   Posted: 08/17/2019 12:40:24

Wow...what a story. I like the stereo aspects and that the cropping took care of the problems. It is lucky that the two vehicles are colors that do well in images and add to the visual story.   Posted: 08/18/2019 01:27:11

I don't see over saturated red. I see under saturated yellow.
I love your image, but I don't think that Christmas tree is going to fit in the living room.   Posted: 08/22/2019 13:56:53
