About the Image(s)

Taken on a plantation just outside of Savannah. Canopied driveways are always inviting and make appealing images. I was struck by the tree shapes and patterns within. Besides the shape of the foreground tree, I likes the repeating patterns seen on the driveway.
I thought the cars were a distraction and there seemed no break in them, so I removed them in post processing. After converting, sliders were used to create some contrast and to tone down some brighter areas. Detail extractor to add some texture.

Hi Melanie
Beautifully composed and processed with the lead-in lines on both sides of tree trunks. Also like the way you have brought out details using Detail Extractor. On a minor note through, would you consider removing the highlight on the road ... right side!!   Posted: 02/02/2021 00:24:36

Well done, Melanie. I like this very much. The patterns and repetition are visually strong in my view, and such an excellent candidate for IR.   Posted: 02/03/2021 17:14:52

I love repeating trees down lanes, Melanie, and what makes yours unique is the lean! Is it the wide angle lens, or did they really grow like that? Prevailing wind sometimes does that. I like what it does for the image, and enjoy it very much over all.   Posted: 02/03/2021 17:55:13

Looking at wider images taken at the same time, There certainly is bit of a lean. 25mm will do that. Thanks for the kind comments.   Posted: 02/14/2021 13:33:44

I echo the thoughts of my IR colleagues. You just go into the scene and appreciate the repeating trees along the way

Melanie, you selected the right position, low and to the left to capture the image you had in mind. Indeed the trees replicate themselves in very interesting patterns. It was wise to remove the cars and posts. The bright patch midway on the street might be dimmed a bit IMHO, but otherwise it is a splendid, perfect for IR image.   Posted: 02/07/2021 19:31:40
