About the Image(s)

This is an image of a wooden bridge on a path that runs along the Allegany River. It was taken early morning at the beginning of June. In post processing I swapped the red and blue channels then re balance them to render a more uniformly white and blue image. I removed a distracting fallen tree, and cropped out the slightly overexposed sections of the sky which also created a stronger landscape format. Camera data: Nikon D7000 (590nm filter), f/7, 1/125, 18mm, ISO = 400.

Hi Charles
I very much like the treatment you've given to the image. I also like the pathway leading to the bridge. On a minor point though, would you consider cloning out a few patches of blue on the left. My eye tends to catch the blue bit in the sky.   Posted: 05/04/2020 01:48:37

Very tranquil and peaceful, Charles...I like this image. The coloration says 'cold', quiet, peaceful. The road leads nicely to the bridge. I wish we had a less foliage-covered bridge to make it more distinct in the scene, but given the conditions, that wasn't possible. I'd love to see this in a large print.   Posted: 05/04/2020 06:55:32

I saw two areas that would lead to enhancement IMHO. Lighten the grass on either side of the path to provide contrast to the foliage and removing the blue sky regions poking through in the upper left.

I used the LR adjustment brush to lighten the grass and painted the sky areas.

Hi Chuck, This looks like snowy scene. I love the contrasts between the path and the foliage. great curve leading my eye right into the picture. The blue sky aside, the cold tone conversion is lovely. I would like to see the grass along the pathway lighter and brighter.   Posted: 05/05/2020 10:47:13

Nice winter wonderland feel to this, and I agree with the other excellent comments, specifically regarding the blue patch in the sky. If there were more blue, I think it would work, but having just a little, makes it feel like an imperfection. As Melanie says, the cold tone overall is lovely.   Posted: 05/09/2020 11:15:00
