About the Image(s)

Taken in Budapest. Unfortunately, the weather was not often cooperative for infrared on our recent trip. That being said, I do not have as many images as I thought I would capture. This is taken from Fisherman’s Bastion which overlooks the city. I’m using my newly converted Sony A7II which is much more fun than the Canon. You will have to bear with me as I experiment with all the new color options.
I converted using an action supplied by life pixel which does the channel mixing, levels and hue and saturation. The conversion gives a color image. I chose to leave the sky and distant city in color and de-saturated the rest which was a fairly ugly greenish tone. I also took out all the pesky tourists (I hope). Let’s hear what you think!

Hi Melanie...
I like it...the simplicity of monochromatic foreground with the blue sky works well for me. This is an interesting subject and a solid composition. Well done start with color IR!   Posted: 11/03/2019 11:50:33

The fantasy feel of this photograph is enhanced by colorized IR imagery. The castle, white foliage and soft blue sky combine to make a very pleasing image.   Posted: 11/07/2019 11:16:08

I also like the blue sky. That's something I can't do with my conversion, without taking a second image with a color camera and stacking them. Great job getting rid of the tourists, the resulting image definitely has an other-worldly medieval feel.

On the far right, however, I'm not a fan of the bit of green left in there, it becomes more of a distraction, and it seems there's a billboard there which needs to go ;)
I'm also wishing for a slightly different perspective, a little more on the left, less on the right, but you were probably limited as to vantage point. Very nice overall.   Posted: 11/09/2019 11:29:45

Wonderful opportunity to photograph in Budapest, it something I will never do. The sky, clouds, the colored city scape and castle are all good to go in my view. I am just wondering if the trees on the foreground right should be darker to contrast with the castle and balance the dark stairs.
