About the Image(s)
I took this photo at the Centennial Park here in Sydney at the beginning of February. It was a windy rainy day.
I usually like cloudy days to take photos of flowers but here during the summer it is not easy to find many days with the perfect conditions so although it was a windy day, I risked taking some photos in the park.
This is one of the photos I took, and I have chosen it for this month image might not be the sharpness one, but I like it because I like the interaction between the two flowers.
In edition I have used three of my textures that I applied in different blending modes: screen, soft light and multiply, using layer mask to remove the excess in the areas that I didn’t want to apply.
Finally, I have finished my editing by applying a Nick software filter which has created the frame, then I have softened it by reducing opacity.

Very nice soft light I find best for shooting flowers. Love the colors in the background. Very nice out of focus background although I might darken it just a bit. Nice detail in the flower petals.
I flipped the image and to my eye I like the composition a little better. I feel the leaf in the stem helps to bring my eye into the image. With the leaf in the right, it tends to take my eye out of the image.
I love a frame on images, I feel it makes an image complete and defines the space for the subject and provides the limits of the space for the image. I feel the frame in this image is a bit too large.
There's a lot to like about this image. You have a great eye to spot these two flowers and then visualize the image in your mind and come away with a great shot.

The simplicity here is lovely. The color saturation is just so good. You certainly do not need to be concerned about the detail. I would not have thought of flipping, but showing the leaf on the left does really work.   Posted: 03/09/2023 16:23:47
Another beautiful image! Great title - The wayward petal on the left and the outstretched leaf on the right appear to be reaching around for each other to hug! The colors are gorgeous, and the composition, texture and frame all work well together to give the image its wonderful painterly vibe. Therefore, I agree with Melanie; I would not be concerned about sharpness. Your final edit is superb! I love it flipped as well. Hang this one up!   Posted: 03/09/2023 18:14:52
