Droopy Leaves by Jeff Fleisher

February 2021 - Droopy Leaves

About the Image(s)

This is a panorama image of four images. I did a panorama so I could get in tight and also collect a lot of pixels so I can print this as a fairly large image. It was taken using a Nikon 200 mm Micro lens at ISO 200 at f/16 at 1/25 shutter speed. The image is actually about twice this size and is a panorama of eight images but the image shown here was a small cluster of leaves that I liked. The full image is 24,088 x 6066 pixels.

This is really a very effective image. I love how you combined different techniques to achieve your goals in generating this image. It is nice to see examples when the goal is to achieve a specific vision within an image as opposed to the use of a technique. As for the image, I love the cleanliness and simplicity of the presentation. I am also enjoying the background as it is clean and non-distracting while still imparting a context to the main subjects. I did note that there is just a bit of halo to the branch, on the top side that I might have addressed, but this is a minor point. Nice Job.   Posted: 02/07/2021 13:45:54

Hi Jeff,
I like this image very much. It is soothing to look at. I agree with Charlie about the background. The color and texture are just right. I also like the subject. Each pod is different - with different tones and textures. I imagine that it is very impressive to look at as a panorama. - Nancy   Posted: 02/16/2021 09:28:48

This is really nicely done. Simplistic and yet so much interest. Color and texture is spot on. The composition of the leaves with some seemingly draped over the top, while others emerge from the bottom are well captured. The gentle curve of the branch, and as mentioned, the complimentary background; all combine to create this very impressive image.   Posted: 02/20/2021 07:32:12

Hi Jeff, Well done. Your image is a nice variation of the Wabi-Sabi concept. Other than that I have nothing to add to the above comments.   Posted: 02/20/2021 21:26:01
