About the Image(s)

The attached image was taken in an old hotel in Victoria, British Columbia. I was attracted by the complex geometries and designs. It was taken with my SONY RX100 at f 3.2 , 1/100 sec, ISO 125.

A very interesting stairwell capture. This one effectively concentrates on the geometric details in the railings and steps. When I looked at it I thought it might be a Jerry Funk image and am not at all surprised at his comment. Great range of tones and contrast of the details. Well done!   Posted: 09/09/2020 04:19:11

I found this image to be a little disorienting at first but after a moment the various graphical elements came together and the scene was understandable. The various planes of focus add to the sense of depth, even while all elements are in focus throughout.   Posted: 09/10/2020 07:52:55

Fascinating. I like the way the bases of the "tridents" on the upper railings seem to point down to the stairs below.I love the tones and textures too.   Posted: 09/11/2020 15:07:56

Don, I like the flow, texture, tonal variation, and layering within the scene. I think it is well seen and captured with excellent choice perspective. You must of carefully chosen your focal point in order to get the nice depth of field at f/3.2. I like the image.   Posted: 09/15/2020 12:29:56
