This image is too harsh and crunchy for my taste. The Arcangel is lost is the distance. The arches come through as the main subject. I would try to isolate the arches and remove the umbrellas, table and chair, and person in the background. The Arcangel could make a good subject, but not in this photograph.   Posted: 12/10/2019 12:39:54

Stan, I partially agree with Jerry's comments. I think the overall tone of the both the arches and the Arcangel are so similar that the foreground arch keeps my eye more in the foreground and less to traveling beyond. I suggest toning done the brightness of the foreground so that the Arcangel become where my eye goes.   Posted: 12/10/2019 14:15:09

I agree with above comments. Have you tried removing the church in background and leaving the space black. I think that would accentuate the arches.   Posted: 12/11/2019 13:28:25

The composition is bothersome to me. The arches lead me away from the church in the background that is prominent with its exaggerated brightness. Other distractions were previously mentioned in part.   Posted: 12/12/2019 01:06:47

Yes, I too think this is a battle between the two subjects (arches vs church). If the former, then just darkening down the church would retain context I think, and if the latter then using one arch as the frame (taking the photo from closer than the present one) sounds nice to me. Although I guess the angle of the arches relative to the church might make that difficult in this instance.   Posted: 12/18/2019 14:12:23

As mentioned by other, I see two images here, the arches leading to somewhere and the church towards the side. They are not complementing each other. However I liked the progressive arches with all the patterns and texture. Only you need to tone down the arches a bit.

Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year.   Posted: 12/31/2019 05:28:01
