The Little Boy by Abhijeet Banerjee, QPSA

August 2019 - The Little Boy

About the Image(s)

This month, there was flooding in the area where I stay in India due to annual Monsoon. To provide relief material and document the extent of the floods, I along with some of my club members visited the area which was effected by flood. In one of the villages, I have seen this boy resting in the boat floating in the flood water enjoying in his own small world. I captured the moment. Light was good and creating its own mood. I decided to process this image in Monochrome. Along with LR Classic CC, I also used NIK VIVIZA for selecting exposure control to capture the mood created by the light.

Settings were, f/4.5, 1/200sec, ISO:100 and FL:78mm. Gear used was D750 with Nikkor 24-120mm F4.

Great facial expression on the little boy. I like the light radiating from the left corner.   Posted: 08/04/2019 19:53:15

Great perspective! Of course the boy's expression is wonderful, but the detail in the boat and its contents are nice as well.   Posted: 08/09/2019 10:24:09

Whoa! I feel dizzy now. Fabulous expression on his face! Lovely light, composition and conversion (way better than the colour I imagine) to super tones and textures. Great!!   Posted: 08/09/2019 11:17:40

What a great image! Just clone out the little distraction on the left edge.   Posted: 08/12/2019 18:39:22

Pleasant image with a wonderful story. I think your focus, composition, position and choice of inclusion elements in the image support the story wonderfully.   Posted: 08/13/2019 18:16:37

Thanks for the feedback. The best thing of this image is the expression on the face of the child. He is in his small world obvious to flood misery all around.   Posted: 08/29/2019 04:27:28
