How I Did It: Queen Anne's Lace can either be classified as a weed or a flower. It is sometimes known as "Wild Carrot". Right now it is at it's peak; end of summer with hot weather. It grows profusely under poor conditions. This image was taken with my cell phone. Very little post processing done but included sharpening and adding a stroke.

When using my DSLR I am conscious of the settings, f stop, shutter speed and ISO. To me, the cell phone works as a P&S camera. Just compose! The photos look good and print well. Creative or just push the button?

Hi Priscilla: This is just what Queen Anne's Lace looks like, very random in design. It is amazing just how far cell phones have improved over time in picture quality. As you mention they have pretty well replaced P&S cameras. Probably not quite as sharp in detail as your DSLR, but quite good none the less.   Posted: 09/06/2020 15:05:51

Again, ditto Murphy's comment, Priscilla. This is one of my wife's, Rosemary, favorites. She's taken hundreds of floral photos with her Iphone and each year she selects the best of the best and has calendars printed that she sends to family members as a "stocking stuffer"   Posted: 09/09/2020 19:52:27

PRISCILLA,
QUEEN ANNE'S LACE, AS I RECALL IT HAS GREAT MEDICINAL QUALITIES, A TEA WAS GREAT FOR HEADACHES(NOT HANGOVERS).
I TOO HAVE SEEN SOME REALLY GOOD IMAGES FROM CELL PHONES, THEY HAVE COME A LONG WAYS.
ONE GOOD THING ABOUT THEM IS, I'M NOT REQUIRED TO HAUL ALL MY GEAR TO A FAMILY GET TOGETHER. I USED TO GIVE THEM PHOTOS AFTERWARDS BUT ALL THEY POSTED WERE PHONE SHOTS.
AS I HAD MENTIONED IN MY COMMENT TO BARBARA, THAT WHITE IS SO HARD TO GET RIGHT, AND THIS TIME YOUR CELL PHONE HAS LET YOU DOWN.
THE WHITES ARE SLIGHTLY BLOWN OUT, AND THAT CAUSES A LOST OF DETAIL, PLUS THE IMAGE IS OUT OF FOCUS AND SOFT.
BUT GO BACK AND WORK ON THOSE WHITES, YOU GIT THEM RIGHT YOU CAN GET EVERYTHING RIGHT.
