Lynx Spider by Paul Manjooran

March 2020 - Lynx Spider

About the Image(s)

This is an image of Lynx spider with a kill (looks like a small bee to me). Discovered this spider on my backyard ,I kept visiting him to see if any action or drama is on to get a unique photograhy opportunity. After a few days of repeated visits ( without disturbing the spider ) found him feasting , hanging upside down the Spider-Man way.
Clicked with Pentax K3 and Venus Optics macro lens .

I MUST SAY I'VE NEVER SEEN A LYNX SPIDER BEFORE, I LOVE THAT YOU CAUGHT HIM EATING UPSIDE DOWN AS YOU SAY SPIDERMAN WAY,THE WAY THE PHOTO IS TAKEN IT WAS HARD FOR ME AT FIRST TO TELL WHAT I WAS LOOKING AT, WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEEN THE EYES OR HEAD, LOVE TO SEE ANOTHER PHOTO OF THAT LITTLE CHARACTER, WITH ALL THOSE HAIRS AND LEGS THE SHARP FOCUS LOOKS GREAT, MAYBE A LITTLE MORE DOF. THANKS FOR SHOWING ME THIS LYNX

Impact is great and sharp focus. Despite the fact that the
spider was upside down, I'd probably rotate it 180 to make it
a more obvious subject. I agree with Richard. I'd like to see more of the spider so that the body was more evident.   Posted: 03/17/2020 14:31:08

Hello Paul, nice shot for probably not having a lot of time to set up. Pretty nice and clear except for the two legs at about one o'clock. However in my opinion it doesn't hurt photo at all. Nice composition.   Posted: 03/21/2020 18:21:46

Hi Paul: You have captured an interesting nature story. It is hard to separate out the spider from the bee as they merge together somewhat. A difficult subject to photograph, and a good attempt.   Posted: 03/22/2020 10:41:03

Hi Paul, Nice image of a spider and it's prey. I like the composition; good placement of the subject in the frame. Even though the focus is not perfect throughout, I find being able to see the fine web the spider is hanging on is remarkable.   Posted: 03/24/2020 13:36:49
