About the Image(s)

DATA: Nikon D700 with 24-120@82mm ---ISO 400 ---1/400 @ f/14 --- handheld --- cloudy.

Maker's Aims and Comments: Attended an arts and crafts show last summer and happened to see this colorful display of scarves on a rack. Am sharing both the original and the creative abstract versions, the creative version was post processed in Elements using various filters. As the pictures are abstract there is no center of interest or anchor point, just colors. Which version do you like the best ??

Oh, I love to shoot these sorts of art/craft/market shots full of colors. I much prefer your excellent original.   Posted: 03/09/2020 23:40:38

I WILL START OUT THAT I HAVE A PREJUDICE AGAINST HEAVY HANDED MANIPULATIONS. NOW WITH THAT SAID I LOVE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE WITH A BUNCH OF VERY COLORFUL SWEATERS HANGING ON A RACK, I'VE GOT AN ARTIST FRIEND(NAME IS ALSO MURPH) THAT DOES VERY SIMILAR ABSTRACT PAINTINGS AND I PAY A LOT OF MONEY FOR THEM, AND HANG THEM ON MY WALLS, I MIGHT HAVE TO LOOK INTO THIS ASPECT.ONE LITTLE POINT I MAY MAKE MAYBE LOSE THE WHITE AT THE BOTTOM.
LOVE IT!!   Posted: 03/13/2020 11:15:15

I like the original better. It is a definable subject with great colors and shows depth that the other does not.   Posted: 03/17/2020 14:35:40

Hi Murphy, I also like the original, although the abstract is interesting design. But my vote the original.   Posted: 03/21/2020 18:25:51

Hi Murphy, Well, there is always someone with a differing opinion. I like the original image which is very well done. Color, sharpness and lighting are apparent but I do prefer the abstract version which has all the same qualities. Lately I am enjoying abstract art. I like the bright colors and the vertical zig-zag patterns. I get a happy, carefree feeling looking at it.   Posted: 03/23/2020 23:22:54

Hi Priscilla: Pleased you like the abstract version. It is just a different way of enjoying the blending of colors in a photograph, however the colors must blend well. I have viewed other abstracts I did not care for at all, really garish colors that did not blend together at all, in fact just simply clashed and not pleasant to look at.   Posted: 03/23/2020 23:37:43
