About the Image(s)

Another animal I do not know the name.

I was walking by the sea in Brazil last month when I saw this sea animal on the sand. The tide was going down and I guess it got stranded in the sand...

What beautiful colors. Leaves a lot of questions about what animal this might be.   Posted: 12/10/2019 17:02:11

Hi Rosangela, Another of your interesting finds. Extremely fine focus with good lighting. Amazing colors in the "sea animal". I noticed you did some cropping of the image. I hope you don't mind but I experimented with a different crop. See what you think.   Posted: 12/10/2019 21:47:11

Hi Priscilla,
thanks for the comments and for the cropping. I like yours better than mine, showing the hole string. Thanks.   Posted: 12/11/2019 17:46:56

Hi Rosangela: Very colorful sea creature, a person would need to be a marine biologist to know what family the subject belonged to. The color the subject is so interesting and blends with the warm toned sand very well. Your original crop is certainly okay; you needed to leave a little more breathing room on the left as it is kind of tight against the frame. Priscilla's horizontal crop is nice also, just goes to show that there is more than one way to compose an image.   Posted: 12/12/2019 23:35:08

Beautiful shot; luv the color. This might be a Portuguese man-o-war. Do a google image search and see what you think.   Posted: 12/13/2019 16:23:13

Hi Bob, you are correct, it is a Portuguese-o-war. I am glad I didn't touch it. I learned its stings can be very painful.
Strong winds may drive them into bays or onto beaches and they can sting while beached. Very beautiful, though.   Posted: 12/13/2019 21:02:49

Hi Rosangela, I like the color and background. The lighting and detail are very good and the smooth somewhat blurred background finishes the photo. Nice photo and find.   Posted: 12/14/2019 06:42:47
