About the Image(s)

I found this dead insect and decided to shoot it. Should I have kept the whole tilted body of the original?

I like the way you cropped it and think including the whole body might have left excessive space around the subject. The eye appears to be at the one-third point, which is great for composition. I like the wing extending to the lower left also, which gives it balance. I don't know what you did in post-processing, but it looks good to me! I'm no expert, but I'd guess this is a a katydid.   Posted: 11/03/2019 03:51:07

Hi Rosangela: From a composition standpoint I like the way you have presented this image. The large dominate wing makes a great leading line from the lower left corner, your eye follows the wing right up to the body of the"bug". Then also you have positioned the upper left wing in the right place. The use of f/18 aperture allowed for good depth of field through out the subject, as all parts of the Green Insect are sharp. Good Capture of an interesting subject.   Posted: 11/03/2019 21:27:00

Hi Rosangela,
Excellent display of the insect. I'm not sure exactly what it is. The green color, offset slightly with orange outlines the structure of the insect very well. Nice depth of focus.
Well done.   Posted: 11/09/2019 17:16:03

Hi Rosangela: You have created an interesting insect image by cropping the original photo. I think your choice of crop was well done even though it meant loosing a parts of the wings. Focus is excellent as well as composition. I like the diagonal green line of shadow at the front of the frame.   Posted: 11/11/2019 08:52:49
